April 26, 2024 - Today, Google is proud to announce it is expanding its Midwest presence with a $2 billion data center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Additionally, the company is announcing a skilled trade career development program and a collaboration with Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M) to add clean energy to the local grid. 

April 25, 2024 - Did you find old or unwanted electronics while spring cleaning? The Allen County Department of Environmental Management (ACDEM) is hosting an Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, May 4th. Allen County residents can bring five electronic items for five dollars to 2911 Meyer Road from 8am to 12pm.

Televisions, cell phones, cameras, CDs, cords, DVDs, keyboards, laptops, monitors, printers, radios, VCRs, and tablets are just a few of the items accepted at the Electronics Recycling Event. Residents are limited to bringing two televisions per vehicle. Cash or check are the only forms of payment accepted.

April 24, 2024 - The 2024 season for Trek the Trails and Tread the Trails will begin on Tuesday, April 30 at 6:00 p.m. at Promenade Park. This special event also includes a free Trails Celebration Party, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., hosted by Fort Wayne Trails Inc. TEDS Snack+ Bar will be open with food and drink for purchase. (After the Tuesday season opening, Tread the Trails will take place on every other Thursday as they did in 2023.)

April 24, 2024 - The opioid crisis has affected every community in the United States, including the City of Fort Wayne. Our community has been severely affected by this crisis through the tragic deaths of too many of our citizens. The Fort Wayne Police Department has been collaborating with other agencies and non-governmental organizations to address the opioid crisis in our community. 

April 23, 2024 - Sharon Tucker today was sworn in as the new mayor of the City of Fort Wayne.

Tucker was sworn in by Karl Bandemer who is returning to the position of deputy mayor.

Tucker is the first Black female mayor in Fort Wayne’s history. Most recently, she served as executive director of Vincent House, Inc., in addition to being the City Councilwoman for Fort Wayne’s 6th District, a position she held from 2020-2024 as the first Black female to hold that position. Tucker was also elected as 1st District Councilwoman on Allen County Council in 2014 and was re-elected to a second term in 2018.
