Brooklyn Avenue Closure                                                                                                                                                                                      

Please be advised that beginning Thursday July 23, 2014 Brooklyn Avenue will be closed between Ontario Street and Hale Avenue for approximately 3 weeks.  This closure will be for a City Utilities Engineering Sewer Separation project in the surrounding area. There will be a marked detour for Brooklyn Avenue using Covington Road, Freeman Street and Taylor Street.  Contractor Rothenberger Company Inc. will be doing the work and will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Hadley Road Closure for N&S Railroad - REVISED

Please be advised that Hadley Road will remain closed until Friday July 25, 2014 to through traffic between Bass Road and Illinois Road (SR 14).  Hadley Road will be open to local traffic up to the south railroad tracks between Gettysburg Pike and Nordale Drive.  This closure is extended by Norfolk & Southern Railroad and is required to repair tracks at the crossing. N & S Railroad expects to have Hadley Road re-opened to traffic on Friday July 25, 2014.  A detour for Hadley Road traffic will be set up using Bass Road, Thomas Road, and Illinois Road (SR 14).  Norfolk & Southern will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Smith Road Closure      

Please be advised that beginning Thursday July 24, 2014 Smith Road will be closed to through traffic approximately 200’ south of the intersection of Covington Road for the day.  This closure will allow contractor, Lawnscape Land Management, to install a new water line across Smith Road for a City Utilities Engineering improvement project.  There will be a marked detour for Smith Road using Covington Road, Ardmore Avenue and Engle Road.  Lawnscape Land Management will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Fairfield Avenue Closure

Please be advised that beginning Monday July 21, Fairfield Avenue will be closed to traffic between Jefferson Boulevard and Baker Street as a part of the Ewing East/West Storm Sewer Separation Project.  This closure will allow contractor, Atlas Excavating Inc. to install underground storm and water lines beneath pavement. It is anticipated that this closure will remain until the middle of August.  During this closure Ewing Street will become 2-way traffic between Baker Street and Brackenridge Street; Brackenridge Street will become 2-way traffic between Fairfield Avenue and Ewing Street. Southbound traffic on Fairfield Avenue will be detoured to Jefferson Boulevard, Ewing Street and Baker Street. Be advised that stop controlled intersections will now be at Fairfield Avenue and Baker Street, and Baker Street and Ewing Street.  Atlas Excavating will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Coldwater Road Lane Restriction   

Please be advised that beginning Monday July 21, 2014 there will be lane restrictions on Coldwater Road just north of Coliseum Boulevard to Noble Drive in the northbound travel lanes.  These lane restrictions will allow crews to do asphalt milling and resurfacing as a part of a city pavement resurfacing contract.  Traffic will be maintained during working hours and will not require the closure of Coldwater Road at this location. It is anticipated that this work will be completed by Wednesday July 23, 2014.  K&M Asphalt will be responsible for traffic control during milling operations and the City of Fort Wayne will be responsible for traffic control during asphalt paving.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Freeman Road Lane Closure 

Please be advised that beginning Monday July 21, 2014 the southbound lane of traffic on Freeman Street will be closed to traffic between Portage Boulevard and Taylor Street.  This closure will allow Water Pollution Control Maintenance to repair storm sewer manholes in the pavement. It is expected that the southbound lane closure will only remain until Tuesday July 22, 2014.  There will be a marked detour for southbound traffic to use Portage Boulevard and Taylor Street.  WPCM will be responsible for the coordination of the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades for the closure.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Production Road Lane Closure       

Please be advised that beginning Monday July 21, 2014 the westbound lane of Production Road approximately 300 feet west of Lima Road will be closed to traffic.  This closure will be for the repair of concrete pavement and it is expected that the lane will re-open to traffic on Tuesday, July 22, 2014.  Water Maintenance Service will be coordinating the work and will have a marked detour using Lima Road, Progress Road and Executive Boulevard. Eastbound exit traffic from Production Road to Lima Road will be open during construction.  WMS will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades for the closure.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Old Trail Road Lane Closure

Please be advised that beginning Friday July 18, 2014 there will be a southbound lane closure on Old Trail Road until Saturday July 19, 2014 between Church Street and Bluffton Road.  During working hours on Friday, Old Trail Road will be closed to all traffic during concrete tear out and re-pour. Old Trail Road will open to one lane of traffic by the afternoon. Old Trail Road will remain under a lane restriction for the southbound lane until Saturday.  This lane closure will allow Water Maintenance Service to repair concrete in the southbound lane of travel.  Water Maintenance Service will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

South Calhoun Street & Lenox Avenue Closures         

Please be advised that beginning Monday July 14, 2014 Lenox Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Harrison Street and Calhoun Street near Southgate Shopping Center. This closure will remain until Friday July 25, 2014.  Then beginning Wednesday July 16, South Calhoun Street will be closed to through traffic between Pettit Avenue and Fairfax Avenue. This will remain under closure until Wednesday July 23, 2014.  South Calhoun Street will have a marked detour using Pettit Avenue, Lafayette Street and Paulding Road.  Contractor API Construction will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Jefferson Boulevard Evening Lane Restriction

Please be advised that beginning Wednesday July 16, 2014 there will be night time lane restrictions on Jefferson Boulevard near the intersection of Fulton Street for water line installation work.  The lane restrictions will begin after 9:00 p.m. that evening and will have traffic down to one through lane.  City Water Maintenance will be doing the work in conjunction with the Ewing East West Phase 2 Storm Sewer Separation Project and will have the road opened by the next morning.  Atlas Excavating will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Wayne, Harrison & Berry Street Restrictions

Please be advised that beginning Monday July 14, 2014 there will be lane restrictions around the block of Wayne Street, Berry Street, Harrison Street and Webster Street.  These lane restrictions will be for site development protection during construction of the new Skyline Garage, Skyline Terrace and Ash Skyline Plaza development in downtown Fort Wayne.  Wayne Street and Berry Street will be restricted to one driving lane, one bike lane and one parking lane around the block.  Harrison Street will be restricted to northbound traffic between Wayne Street and Berry Street, and Webster Street will remain closed to traffic between Wayne Street and Berry Street.  Weigand Construction will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172. 

Closure of Coldwater Road

Please be advised that beginning Tuesday July 15, 2014 Coldwater Road will be closed to traffic north of Windrift Lane between Union Chapel Road and Dupont Road. This closure will be for 2 separate contracts.City Utilities Engineering will have a contractor installing a sanitary line across Coldwater Road and the Allen County Highway Department will have a contractor installing a new culvert across the Roy Delagrange Drain. Coldwater Road will be open to traffic by August 8, 2014 prior to the start of school. Contractor Yarberry Land Services and Pioneer Associates will be doing the work during the closure. There will be a marked detour for Coldwater Road using Dupont Road, Auburn Road and Union Chapel Road. Yarberry Land Services will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades. Hadley Road Closure for N &S Railroad

Northlawn Drive Closure

Please be advised that beginning Monday July 14, 2014 the intersection of Northlawn Drive and Addison Avenue will be closed to local traffic only.  This closure will be for the St. Joe River CSO Sewer Relief construction project by the City of Fort Wayne.  Atlas Excavating will be doing the work and is expecting to finished by Friday July 25th, 2014.  Traffic will be maintained for local residents, but will not be open to through traffic. Covington Road Lane Restrictions

Please be advised that beginning Monday June 30, 2014 there will be lane restrictions on Covington Road between Eggeman Road and Braemar Drive.  Contractor API Construction will be installing a new sanitary sewer force main within pavement limits along the north side of the road. The project is scheduled for completion by August 1, 2014.  There will be a marked detour using Scott Road, Bass Road and West County Line Road. However, traffic will be maintained for 1 lane with flagging operations daily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Traffic is to be opened to 2 lanes during non-working hours.  API Construction will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades and daily traffic control.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at  427-1172.

Hale Avenue Closure           

Please be advised that beginning Monday June 16, 2014 Hale Avenue between Brooklyn Avenue and the St. Mary’s River will be closed to through traffic for a City Utilities Engineering storm sewer separation improvement project.  Contractor, Rothenberger Company Inc., will be doing the work and this closure is expected to remain until approximately October 1, 2014.  There will be a marked detour for traffic and trail users along Hale Avenue and the St. Mary’s Pathway.  Rothenberger Company will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

North Anthony Boulevard Construction
 
Please be advised that North Anthony Boulevard will be closed to southbound traffic at Coliseum Boulevard for the INDOT bridge and road widening project. This closure, weather permitting, will begin June 11, 2014 and run until approximately Friday June 27, 2014.  Westbound traffic on Coliseum Boulevard will not be able to go south on North Anthony during this phase of work. Eastbound traffic, coming from the Coliseum, will have south access onto North Anthony. Northbound Anthony to Coliseum Boulevard will be open with restrictions.  **** Primco, Inc. will be responsible for the maintenance and placement of all construction signs and barricades for this INDOT project.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Webster Street Closure

Please be advised that beginning Thursday June 5, 2014 Webster Street between Wayne Street and Berry Street will be closed to traffic until December of 2015.  This is a coordinated closure as a part of the new downtown development building project on the block between Webster Street, Harrison Street and Wayne Street and Berry Street.  Along with this closure will be lane restrictions on the North side of Wayne Street between Ewing Street and Harrison Street at Webster Street for the setting of concrete barrier wall to protect the construction site.  Weigand Construction will be the prime contractor responsible for the coordination, placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades for this project.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Lane restrictions on Aboite Center Road

Please be advised that there will be traffic lane restrictions on Aboite Center Road between West Lakes Drive and West Jefferson Boulevard beginning Monday April 7th until August 30, 2014.  The lane restrictions are for a planned Aqua Indiana construction project for upgrades to their system. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Aboite Center Road during construction.  The contractor will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

North Anthony Blvd. and Coliseum Blvd.

Please be advised that there will be ongoing lane restrictions along N Anthony Blvd and Coliseum Blvd between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm for the bridge widening project on Coliseum Blvd.  This is an INDOT project over the St Joe River at Johnny Appleseed Park.  There will be times during construction at which overhead work will require the closure of the trail under the bridge for safety reasons.  The contractor will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact INDOT at 484-9541 or the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.
