Fairfield Avenue Closure

Please be advised that beginning Thursday September 11, 2014 Fairfield Avenue will be closed to traffic between Wayne Street and Washington Boulevard. This closure will be for the installation of a storm line down and across Fairfield Avenue as a part of the Ewing East/West Storm Sewer Separation Project Phase 2. There will be a marked detour for this work using Wayne Street, Ewing Street and Washington Boulevard. Atlas Excavating will be doing the work and is anticipating to re-open Fairfield to traffic on Monday September 29, 2014.  Atlas Excavating will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone. North Anthony Boulevard Lane restriction

Please be advised that beginning Tuesday September 2, 2014 North Anthony Boulevard will have lane restrictions between Crescent Avenue and St Joe River Drive.  Lane restrictions will include restricting traffic to 1 lane in each direction for the installation of a storm line across North Anthony Boulevard.   Atlas Excavating will be doing the work and it is anticipated that this work will be completed by September 19, 2014.  For traffic concerns or questions you may call the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Pearl Street Closure                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

Please be advised that beginning Thursday September 4, 2014 Pearl Street will be closed at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue until approximately September 15, 2014. This closure will be for the installation of storm lines and concrete repair as a part of the Ewing/Fairfield Roundabout Project in downtown Fort Wayne. Brooks Construction will be doing the work and will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  There will not be a marked detour for this closure.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

W Washington Boulevard Lane Restriction

Please be advised that beginning Wednesday August 27, 2014 there will be lane restrictions on the north side of W Washington Boulevard between Harrison Street and Broadway. This lane restriction will be for underground storm line installation which is a part of the City Utilities Engineering storm sewer separation project. Atlas Excavating will be doing the work and it is expected that this work will remain until approximately mid-November. Atlas Excavating will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone. Tillman Road & Rivergreenway Trail Closures

Please be advised that it is expected that work will begin on August 4, 2014 along Tillman Road and the Rivergreenway Trail between Lower Huntington Road and South Calhoun Street. Tillman Road is expected to have intermittent single lane closures and the Rivergreenway Trail is expected to be closed during construction operations. These restrictions and closures will allow the contractor to construct a floodway levee for high water level protection for a city project. Ironclad Excavating will be doing the work and it is expected that this work will continue until September 15, 2014. Ironclad Excavating will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone. Fulton Street Closure   

Please be advised that beginning Thursday July 31, 2014 Fulton Street between Washington Boulevard and Jefferson Boulevard was closed to traffic. This closure will allow contractor, Atlas Excavating, to install storm lines in the roadway as a part of the City Utilities Ewing East/West Storm Sewer Separation Project Phase 2. It is expected that this closure will remain until September 15, 2014. There will not be a marked detour for this route as traffic is encouraged to use an adjacent street for travel. Atlas Excavating will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades for the work zone and local access to businesses. Brooklyn Avenue Closure                                                                                                                                                                                      

Please be advised that beginning Thursday July 23, 2014 Brooklyn Avenue will be closed between Ontario Street and Hale Avenue until approximately October 1, 2014.  This closure will be for a City Utilities Engineering Sewer Separation project in the surrounding area. There will be a marked detour for Brooklyn Avenue using Covington Road, Freeman Street and Taylor Street.  Contractor Rothenberger Company Inc. will be doing the work and will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Hale Avenue Closure           

Please be advised that beginning Monday June 16, 2014 Hale Avenue between Brooklyn Avenue and the St. Mary’s River will be closed to through traffic for a City Utilities Engineering storm sewer separation improvement project.  Contractor, Rothenberger Company Inc., will be doing the work and this closure is expected to remain until approximately October 1, 2014.  There will be a marked detour for traffic and trail users along Hale Avenue and the St. Mary’s Pathway.  Rothenberger Company will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Webster Street Closure

Please be advised that beginning Thursday June 5, 2014 Webster Street between Wayne Street and Berry Street will be closed to traffic until December of 2015.  This is a coordinated closure as a part of the new downtown development building project on the block between Webster Street, Harrison Street and Wayne Street and Berry Street.  Along with this closure will be lane restrictions on the North side of Wayne Street between Ewing Street and Harrison Street at Webster Street for the setting of concrete barrier wall to protect the construction site.  Weigand Construction will be the prime contractor responsible for the coordination, placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades for this project.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Wayne, Harrison & Berry Street Restrictions

Please be advised that beginning Monday July 14, 2014 there will be lane restrictions around the block of Wayne Street, Berry Street, Harrison Street and Webster Street.  These lane restrictions will be for site development protection during construction of the new Skyline Garage, Skyline Terrace and Ash Skyline Plaza development in downtown Fort Wayne.  Wayne Street and Berry Street will be restricted to one driving lane, one bike lane and one parking lane around the block.  Harrison Street will be restricted to northbound traffic between Wayne Street and Berry Street, and Webster Street will remain closed to traffic between Wayne Street and Berry Street.  Weigand Construction will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

North Anthony Blvd. and Coliseum Blvd.

Please be advised that there will be ongoing lane restrictions along N Anthony Blvd and Coliseum Blvd between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm for the bridge widening project on Coliseum Blvd.  This is an INDOT project over the St Joe River at Johnny Appleseed Park.  There will be times during construction at which overhead work will require the closure of the trail under the bridge for safety reasons.  The contractor will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact INDOT at 484-9541 or the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.
