Lane Restrictions on Engle Road

Please be advised Engle Road will have lane restrictions to one lane in each direction beginning Monday April 21, 2014 through Tuesday April 22, 2014 to continue with trail construction.  The restrictions will be between Jefferson Boulevard and Statesman Way, and will run between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.  Brooks Construction will be responsible for placement and maintenance of all construction signs, barricades and maintenance of traffic.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Wells Street Lane Restrictions       

Please be advised that there will be lane restrictions along Wells Street at Russel Avenue beginning Thursday April 17, 2014. Lane restrictions are planned between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00pm.  This lane restriction will allow City Utilities Water Department to repair a broken water line at the intersection.  Water Maintenance Service will be responsible for the coordination of the placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Harrison Street Closure

Please be advised that Harrison Street will be closed to traffic at the intersection of Baker Street beginning Thursday April 17, 2014. This closure is anticipated to be completed by April 25, 2014.  This closure will allow the contractor, API, to continue with the Ewing East/West Storm Sewer Separation Project. Traffic will be maintained up to the intersection but is encouraged to use Calhoun Street during the interruption.  The contractor will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

John Street

Please be advised that John Street will be closed to traffic between US 27 South and Tillman Rd. beginning Wednesday April 16, 2014 until Thursday April 17, 2014.  This closure will allow the contractor, Lentz Enterprises, to install a new sanitary manhole.  There will not be a marked detour for this section of John Street as traffic is encouraged to bypass construction using Hanna Street or Lafayette Street.  Access to the Community Harvest Food Bank will be maintained.  The contractor will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all signs and barricades.  If there are any further questions or traffic concerns, please call the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.


Main Street Closure

Please be advised that Main Street will be closed to traffic between Leesburg Road and Davis Street beginning Monday April 14, 2014. This closure is expected to last through April 18, 2014.  Main Street eastbound will be closed to traffic at Leesburg Road. Main Street westbound will be opened to traffic up to Davis Street from downtown.  There will be a marked detour for Main Street using Leesburg Road, Spring Street and Van Buren Street.  This closure will allow the city to make pavement repairs.  City Utilities is responsible for the coordination and placement of all construction signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Lane restrictions on Aboite Center Road

Please be advised that there will be traffic lane restrictions on Aboite Center Road between West Lakes Drive and West Jefferson Boulevard beginning Monday April 7th until August 30, 2014.  The lane restrictions are for a planned Aqua Indiana construction project for upgrades to their system. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Aboite Center Road during construction.  The contractor will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Baker Street Closure

Please be advised that Baker Street will be closed to traffic between Harrison Street and South Calhoun Street beginning Monday April 7, 2014. This closure is anticipated to be completed by April 18, 2014.  This closure will allow the contractor, API, to continue with the Ewing East/West Storm Sewer Separation Project. There will not be a marked detour for this closure; local traffic is encouraged to use an alternative route.  The contractor will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Lane restrictions on N. Anthony Blvd. and Coliseum Blvd.

Please be advised that beginning Monday March 10, 2014 construction work will begin on the Coliseum Boulevard bridge over the St.Joe River at Johnny Appleseed Park.  There will be lane restrictions between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the westbound inside lane of Coliseum Boulevard from Crescent Avenue to H.W. Baals Drive. There will also be a lane restriction for one northbound left turn lane on Anthony Boulevard to Coliseum Boulevard.  These lane restrictions will allow Primco, Inc. to construct a temporary bridge on the inside westbound lane of Coliseum Boulevard for the bridge and trail improvement project.  It is anticipated that this work should last through the end of the month.  The contractor will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Closure of Anthony Blvd.

Please be advised Anthony Blvd. will be closed to all traffic at the bridge over the Maumee River, between Berry St. and Lake Avenue.  The closure will begin on Friday, September 13, 2013, and continue through May of 2014.  The closure will allow the contractor, Primco Inc., to reconstruct the bridge over the Maumee River for the Allen County Highway Department.  A detour route will be established that will utilize Berry St., Coombs St., Tecumseh St., Columbia Ave. and Lake Ave. for north bound traffic.  South bound traffic will utilize Lake Ave., Tecumseh St., Coombs St. and Wayne Street.  The contractor will be responsible for placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.
