                    NOTICE OF EVENT:

The 2016  Annual  Fort4Fitness Fall Festival will be taking place the weekend of October 1, 2016.  Various streets in the Fort Wayne area will be affected by the routes.  Event Organizers have worked with city and police departments on the route and want to ensure that motorists are aware of the locations.    Please click the following link to see a course map of the routes:      FORT4FITNESS COURSE MAP

Superior Street Road Closure

Please be advised that beginning Monday September 26, 2016 Superior St. will be closed between Harrison and Superior Circle (Ewing/Fairfield/Wells).  This closure will allow for underground utility work as a part of a City of Fort Wayne project.  Bercot Construction will be doing the work and weather permitting is work will be completed by Monday October 10, 2016.  Bercot will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  A marked detour will be set up using Ewing St, Main St, and Harrison St.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Calhoun Street Closure – Utility Work

Please be advised that beginning Monday September 26, 2016 Calhoun Street will be closed to through traffic between Murray Street and Grand Street. This closure will be to install underground I&M Power lines as a part of a downtown Fort Wayne upgrade project.  This will be the second phase of work on Calhoun Street which will be going along Calhoun Street from Wallace Street up to Jefferson Boulevard.  Robert Henry Corp. will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed by Friday September 30, 2016.  There will be a marked detour for this closure using Wallace Street, Harrison Street, and Grand Street.  Robert Henry Corp. will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Superior Street Lane Restriction

Please be advised that beginning Monday September 26, 2016 there will be a single lane restriction on eastbound Superior Street at Clinton Street in downtown Fort Wayne.  This restriction will have the far right lane closed while crews work at the intersection as a part of a City of Fort Wayne project.  Malott Contracting will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating lane restrictions will be completed by Wednesday September 28, 2016. Malott Contracting will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Washington Boulevard and Clay Street Restrictions

Please be advised that beginning Monday September 26, 2016 there will be lane restrictions at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Clay Street for building construction at the southwest corner of the intersection.  This restriction will have 1 lane on Washington Boulevard and 1 lane on Clay Street restricted for safety of workers and vehicles. Up to 2 lanes may be restricted on Washington Boulevard during daytime hours of 9:00am – 4:00pm as needed.  Meyer Najem Construction, LLC will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed by Friday October 7, 2016.  Meyer Najem Construction will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Lower Huntington Road Closure

Please be advised that on Monday September 26, 2016 Lower Huntington Road will be closed to through traffic between Ardmore Avenue and Smith Road.  This closure is for RE Crosby Construction to work on City Utilities lift station project.  RE Crosby will be doing the project and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed by Monday November 7, 2016.  RE Crosby will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone. There will be a posted detour using Ardmore Avenue, Airport Expressway and Smith Road

Main Street Lane Closure                                                                                                                                                                                                               

Please be advised that on Monday September 19, 2016 Main Street will have westbound lane closures between Calhoun Street and Clinton Street in front of the Rousseau Center.  This closure will be to make necessary repairs to underground I&M Power lines.  I&M Contracted crews will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed the same day, Monday September 19, 2016.  It is anticipated that this work will take place between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm.   Westbound lanes will be closed to through traffic and will be detoured accordingly.   I&M crews will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Please be advised that beginning Monday September 19, 2016 Calhoun Street will have lane restrictions between Main Street and Berry Street.  This restriction will be to install underground I&M Power lines as a part of a downtown Fort Wayne upgrade project.   Robert Henry Corp. will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed by Friday September 23, 2016.   Traffic will be restricted but will still allow 2 travels lanes through the work zone.   Robert Henry Corp. will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Please be advised that beginning Monday September 19, 2016 Calhoun Street will be closed to through traffic between Wallace Street and Grand Street.  This closure will be to install underground I&M Power lines as a part of a downtown Fort Wayne upgrade project.  This will be the first phase of work on Calhoun Street which will be going south from Wallace Street up to Jefferson Boulevard.  Robert Henry Corp. will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed by Friday September 23, 2016.   There will be a marked detour for this closure using Wallace Street, Harrison Street, and Grand Street.  Robert Henry Corp. will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Moeller Road Closure   -  ***  REVISED 9-26-16 ***                                                                                                                                                                                          

Please be advised that beginning Friday October 7, 2016 Moeller Road will be closed to through traffic approximately 1000’ west of Adams Center Road.  This closure will allow InfraSource to remove a casing pipe within Moeller Road for underground utility lines.  InfraSource will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed by Friday October 14, 2016.  There will be a marked detour for this using Meyer Road, New Haven Avenue and Adams Center Road.  InfraSource will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Newfield Drive Closure                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Please be advised that beginning Wednesday September 14, 2016 Newfield Drive will be closed to through traffic between Kingsland Court and Repton Drive in Newfield Subdivision.  This closure will be for underground utility work performed by InfraSource.  InfraSource is anticipating that weather permitting work will be completed by September 29, 2016.  InfraSource will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Vance Avenue Closure 

Please be advised that beginning Tuesday August 30, 2016 Vance Avenue will be closed to through traffic west of Hobson Road between Hobson Road and Santa Rosa Drive.  This closure will be for a City Utilities Engineering water main installation project.  All Star Construction will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed by Tuesday September 20, 2016.  All Start Construction will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.

 Maumee Avenue Realignment Project Lane Restrictions

Please be advised that beginning Wednesday June 1, 2016 there will be lane restrictions on Maumee Avenue between Francis Street and Ohio Street.  This restriction will be done in phases to allow Brooks Construction Company to complete the realignment project.  Brooks Construction will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating all work will be completed by Friday November 4, 2016.   Brooks will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

McKinnie Avenue  Lane Closure                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Please be advised that on Friday April 15, 2016 McKinnie Avenue will be under a new traffic pattern between South Anthony Boulevard and Wayne Trace.  McKinnie Avenue will temporarily become 1-way traffic heading east from South Anthony Boulevard towards Wayne Trace.  This change will remain in place during the McKinnie Avenue improvement project which is anticipated to complete in September. Adjacent streets will be periodically affected due to construction phasing.  The project will improve circulation and safety for vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic on McKinnie Avenue. It includes concrete road reconstruction; trail and sidewalk on either side of the road, ADA curb ramps, and a grass park strip.  Primco, Inc. will be doing the work and will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.
