City Street Department employee Shawn Bonar today received special recognition for winning the 2005 Indiana Snowplow Rodeo.

Bonar accepted the award at a ceremony in Mayor Graham Richard'€™s office. The award was presented by the Indiana Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP).

“Congratulations to Shawn for this tremendous achievement,” said Mayor Richard. “Shawn is a great example of a dedicated City employee committed to providing excellent services to residents.”

“We are pleased to recognize Shawn and the City of Fort Wayne for their great work in the snowplow rodeo,” said John Haberman, Research Engineer with LTAP. “Shawn displayed professionalism and a great awareness of using street equipment at the competition.”

Bonar won the state competition in September and represented Indiana at the regional competition in Michigan in October.

LTAP is a program of the Purdue Civil Engineering Department and the Federal Highway Administration. LTAP provides improved access to highway technology to local highway agencies to meet the growing demands placed on local roads, bridges and public transportation.
