Dr. Scott Myers is the representative for the 4th District of Fort Wayne. He is looking forward to giving a voice to the neighborhoods in City government. He is actively involved in Fort Wayne and Allen County programs advocating for mental wellness especially among youth. He served on the Aboite Township Board beginning in 2021 where he prioritized supporting emergency services and further improving the Parks and Trails in Aboite Township.

Dr. Myers studied Business and Economics at Wheaton College, where he also studied Political Science, Biblical archaeology and pre-medicine. He received his Master’s degree from Purdue University Fort Wayne and went on to study at the Indiana University School of Medicine. During his day job, Dr. Myers is an Assistant Professor at IU School of Medicine Fort Wayne and is a pediatric specialist in hematology/oncology and general pediatrics.

Dr. Myers is currently the Co-Chair of the Regulations Committee.

Some of the goals Dr. Myers has for his first term on City Council is being intimately involved in the City budget process, infrastructure grants for Council districts and stopping new local income taxes.

Nathan Hartman Profile

Nathan is honored to represent the residents of Fort Wayne’s 3rd District.  He was born and raised in Fort Wayne Indiana.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids at the many great attractions Fort Wayne has to offer.  Nathan believes that Fort Wayne has many great amenities and if Fort Wayne takes the right steps it can continue to grow and prosper for his family and for others.

Nathan has served in many volunteer roles in Fort Wayne.  He currently serves as commissioner on the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Board where he works to protect the tax payer, and make sure we are focusing on the best projects.  He has served previously as President of the Allen County Economic Development Commission where he worked to bring jobs to Fort Wayne.  He has served as a City Council appointment on the board of Citilink. On this Board, he worked to position Citilink as a workforce development tool to help residents get to work on time.  He has also served as a Board Member on the Cable Fund Access Board.

Councilman Hartman is currently the Co-Chair for the Public Works Committee.

He attended St. Charles for grade school, Bishop Dwenger for High School, and Indiana University Bloomington for college. 

He works as an actuarial pension consultant in Fort Wayne. He helps businesses to understand their pension liabilities and fund them correctly. In this position, he spends a lot of time working with budgets and financial projections.

Nathan believes he can make a difference and help build a better, safer, more prosperous city for his family and for all families in Fort Wayne.

Tucker Sharon 1

Councilwoman Sharon Tucker is currently serving as the Executive Director of Vincent Village, Inc.  A graduate of Indiana Tech, she holds two Bachelors of Science degrees in Management and Human Resources.

Sharon’s community engagement is extensive. She’s a proud member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, AVOW (Advancing Voices of Women) and the NAACP. Sharon also volunteers on the Board of Directors for the Allen County Public Library, Alliance Health Clinic, and SEED.

Sharon’s civic engagement is extensive, having served as the Treasurer for the Allen County Democratic Party for five years and as Vice Chair in 2016. Sharon was elected as 1st District Councilwoman on the Allen County Council in 2014 and was re-elected to a second term in 2018. While on County Council, she was the only female, African American, and Democrat serving at the time. Sharon then ran for the 6th District City Council seat in 2019 and won wherein she continues to make her mark in local politics as the first African American woman to hold this seat. Councilwoman Tucker serves on various boards and committees for city government. She is currently the Co-Chair in City Council Finance Committee.

Sharon has long held a desire to help other women achieve their political goals. In 2012, she formed the ‘Women in Politics Forum,’ an annual forum focusing on empowering, engaging, and educating women on the importance of being involved in the political process. She’s mentored several local female political candidates and especially enjoys public speaking as it relates to women in politics.

In 2021 Councilwoman Tucker founded and launched Project Activate SouthEast Fort Wayne (P.A.S.E.).  P.A.S.E. is an entrepreneurial training and pitch competition designed to help entrepreneurs start their businesses and spur economic development in the southeast portion of her city.

Finally, Councilwoman Tucker makes time for running a successful e-Commerce business and YouTube Channel - ‘Classy Shay Designs – where she offers affordable craft supplies for do-it-yourself projects as well as custom gifts. Sharon also relishes time with her family and friends.

Marty Bender, a lifelong Fort Wayne resident, served on Fort Wayne City Council for three terms starting in 1996. He is returning as an At-Large-Representative for the residents of Fort Wayne.

Councilman Bender, a graduate of South Side High School, has been married to Peggy Bender for 41 years. He is a father to 5 children and 10 wonderful grandchildren.

He faithfully served the City on the Fort Wayne Police Department for 49 years, retiring December 2023. Marty is a graduate of not only the Fort Wayne Police Academy but the FBI National Academy, U.S. Secret Service Academy, the Emergency Management Institute (FEMA) as well as several schools at Indiana University, Purdue University and Northwestern University. He has served for 22 years as the Commander of the Fort Wayne SWAT Team, Bomb Squad, Hostage Negotiators and the K-9 Unit, as well as Bike Patrol, Public Safety Response Team and Air Support Unit.

Councilman Bender’s focus on City Council will be to closely monitor the expenditures of tax money and ensuring the Fort Wayne Public Safety Divisions have what is needed to protect the citizens of Fort Wayne. He currently serves at the Co Chair of the Council Finance Committee.

Councilwoman Michelle Chambers is a native of Fort Wayne, and the business owner of Signing Closers LLC, wife of Dr. Benny Fair Jr, DPM owner of Lafayette Foot and Ankle Clinic located in Fort Wayne. Prior to assuming office she has been strong community advocate serving on several civic and nonprofit boards for the last decade in Fort Wayne. She holds the distinction of being National Urban Fellow and Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development.  Additionally, she holds two additional certificates: one in Executive Leadership from Kansas University and another in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.

Councilwoman Chambers public service career spans over two decades, working in local municipalities, over-seeing human services and workforce development programming for underserved communities, at-risk youth and their families, direct oversight of multimillion-dollar community, economic and redevelopment projects. She’s an Adjunct Professor at Vincennes University where she teaches Business and Political Science classes for East Allen County University, in addition to her professorship, she teaches Entrepreneur Business Startup classes for the City of Fort Wayne’s Build Program.

Councilwoman Chambers assumed office on January 1, 2020, she created Fort Wayne political history being 1 of 2 first African American Women elected to City Council and the first women to hold the At-Large Council Seat. She is currently the co-chair of the City Regulations Committee.
