May 23, 2017 -  UNCF Fort Wayne Leadership Council will hold its Second Annual Fort Wayne Mayor’s Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast, 3800 N. Anthony Blvd. in Fort Wayne. Hosted by Mayor Tom Henry, the event will be attended by business, civic and education leaders in support of UNCF’s work to provide Fort Wayne students with resources to get to and through college. Mr. Sherrod Woods will deliver the keynote address.

“UNCF is proud of the partnerships that raise awareness and bring us together with stakeholders whose commitment is critical in our work,” said Andrea Neely, regional development director. “The commitment of Mayor Henry and members of UNCF’s Fort Wayne Leadership Council in investing in Better Futures® is admirable and pays dividends when they become the next generation of leaders.” “I continue to be encouraged by the momentum and investments we’re experiencing in Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana,” said Mayor Henry. “We recognize education and students are critical to the current and future success of our community and region. We must value and appreciate educational institutions and students as we work together to make a lasting and meaningful impact.”

Formed in 2007, UNCF’s Fort Wayne Leadership Council has awarded more than 66 scholarships and raised more than $180,000 in support of Fort Wayne and Allen County students. “Helping local students develop their full potential and gain access to the benefits of a college education is the focus of our leadership council’s efforts. It is important to the future of the Greater Fort Wayne community. We are encouraged and united in our commitment and glad to stand with Mayor Henry to support our students and community,” said Brad Stiles, UNCF Fort Wayne Leadership Council chair.
