March 15, 2019 - Construction improvements for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians on Dupont Road push forward beginning Monday, March 18, 2019, and that will mean lane restrictions between Lima Road and Coldwater Road.

In order to accommodate the removal of intermediate (temporary) asphalt placed to open the road for the winter, traffic will be restricted to the far outside lanes with one lane in each direction. Motorists may experience delays as crews remove the temporary asphalt from the median areas for island construction.

Weather permitting the lane restrictions will shift again in mid-April within the work zone as other operations are taking place.

The Dupont project is scheduled for completion in July of this year.

The Dupont Road improvements include the expansion of the road to four lanes with a turn lane, where needed, adding a sidewalk on the north side of the road and a trail on the south side of the road.

A pedestrian/bicycle crossing, under the road, connecting the Pufferbelly Trail from Salomon Farm Park to the existing trail north of Dupont Road opened this winter but may be closed at times when construction work is near the crossing.

Up to 25,000 vehicles use this stretch of Dupont Road each day.
