April 20, 2022 - The Rivergreenway Trail under the Fort Wayne Veterans Memorial Bridge will be closed beginning Friday, April 22 due to bridge construction. During the closure, in order to cross Spy Run Avenue, trail users will be detoured to an at-grade crossing area just north of the bridge that will run from the Water Filtration Plant to the Old Fort. Traffic will be down to a single lane in that section, also due to bridge construction, and there will be breaks in the traffic flow as vehicles stop at the Superior Street traffic signal, which will allow trail users an opportunity to cross Spy Run Avenue.

The trail is expected to be closed until mid-December.

The Fort Wayne Area Trails Network consists of nearly 129 miles of trails, with 97.4 miles inside City limits. Most of the trails in City limits are planned, designed, constructed and maintained by the City of Fort Wayne, under the leadership of Mayor Tom Henry.
