June 17, 2024 - Due to NIPSCO relocating gas lines for the Leesburg Road Extension Project, traffic will be restricted in several areas beginning June 24 until July 12.
- There will be a lane restriction on Main Street between Jefferson Boulevard and Leesburg Road. Flaggers will direct traffic.
- Main Street will be closed for eastbound traffic on West Jefferson Boulevard at the intersection of Main Street and Jefferson Boulevard. A detour will be provided to utilize Jefferson Boulevard, Van Buren Street and Main Street.
- There will be a lane restriction for westbound traffic on Jefferson Boulevard between Main Street and the bridge over Junk Ditch.
The project will include ADA compliant sidewalks, urban street design with curb and gutter, drainage improvements with new storm sewers, green infrastructure, street lighting and urban landscaping. Roadway construction is expected to begin in 2025.
