A search committee led by Mayor Graham Richard has unanimously recommended the selection of Al Moll for the position of Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Fort Wayne.

Moll has been offered and accepted the position of Director of Parks and Recreation pending formal approval by the Board of Park Commissioners. The Board will meet at 4 p.m. Friday, October 14 at the Psi Ote Barn (Lower), corner of East State Boulevard and Parnell Avenue, to act on the search committee'€™s recommendation.

“Al'€™s leadership and business skills will be a tremendous asset for the Parks Department,” said Mayor Richard. “Fort Wayne is fortunate to have a great parks system. Al will help take the department to the next level to better serve our community.”

“We look forward to working with Al,” said Charles McNagny, Board of Park Commissioners President and search committee member. “Al'€™s managerial experience and his ability to work with city departments and the community will benefit the Parks Department.”

Moll has served as Deputy Mayor since April 2004. Moll served as Chief of Staff from December 2003-April 2004, and was City Controller from January 2003-January 2004. Moll was president and CFO of Fab-Glas, Indiana from 1992-2002. Moll also served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Lincoln Financial Corporation from 1984-1992.

Moll will begin his new duties no later than November 1.
