City leaders will hold an open house, public information session from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6, to gather public input on proposals to redesign the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bridge on Clinton Street near Headwaters Park in downtown Fort Wayne. The meeting will be held at the FourthWave Building, 300 E. Main St.

The Downtown Blueprint plan originally identified the bridge project. A committee of community leaders has selected two options they feel best represent how the bridge could serve as a new signature gateway to downtown. Individuals attending the public meeting will have the opportunity to learn about the recommendations, and will be able to provide feedback.

The City is partnering with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) on the scheduled replacement of the bridge. Actual construction will not begin for several more years.
