The City’s Human Resources Department has changed its job application process.

Individuals will no longer be able to apply for positions that are not vacant or posted. Only applications and resumes that identify specific vacant/posted positions will be accepted. In 2004, Human Resources received more than 3,000 applications. Nearly 1,000 of the applications were not tied to a vacancy.

Internal paperwork processes have also been improved. The new process will save taxpayers $4,000 each year and reduce 149 staff hours per year.
