Fort Wayne Mayor Graham Richard will be a featured speaker at two national conferences in Washington, D.C. later this week.

Mayor Richard will discuss how Fort Wayne is wired and inspired to compete in the flat world at the U.S. Conference of Mayors Winter Meeting from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, January 26 at the Capital Hilton Hotel. Mayor Richard will describe how Fort Wayne is a leader in the nation in using best practices to provide broadband services to the community.

Mayor Richard will also speak at the New Cities Project meeting from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, January 27 at the Brookings Institution, 1775 Massachusetts Avenue, NW. Mayor Richard will discuss “Technology and Government Efficiency: Deploying New Technology to Improve Quality of Service.” The presentation will focus on how cities can save money and improve services through new technology. Fort Wayne'€™s broadband and technology initiatives will be highlighted. Mayor Richard is part of the New Cities Project, which develops ways to initiate innovative urban policies.
