April 14, 2021 - The City of Fort Wayne’s Community Development Division today announced that 27 neighborhood associations are being awarded grants totaling more than $117,000 to improve their communities.

Any registered Fort Wayne neighborhood association or one of the City’s four Area Partnerships could apply to receive up to $5,000 for the Neighborhood Improvement Grant. 

April 13, 2021 - Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control is kicking off Dog Bite Prevention Week by sharing tips to help keep citizens and their pets safe from dog bites.

As the investigating agency in Allen County, Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control has already received 326 bite reports in 2021. As the weather turns warmer and more people are starting to spend more time outside, the number of bites is increasing. During just one week of March when temperatures were in the 60s and 70s, 60 bites were reported to FWACC. 

April 8, 2021 - Residents utilized our trail system this March more than any March on record with 78,679 counts logged. Almost all of the trails in the nearly 125 mile trail system experienced an increase in use. The second highest March trail count was in 2012, with 50,824 counts logged. In March 2020, when events were cancelled due to the beginning of the pandemic, 46,759 trail counts were logged. 

April 13, 2021 - Mayor Tom Henry today announced his support of the decision to cancel the 2021 Three Rivers Festival Parade due to continued concerns regarding COVID-19.

Mayor Henry, the Allen County Department of Health, and leaders from the Three Rivers Festival met recently to discuss the challenges of possibly conducting a parade with COVID-19 still prevalent in the community. 

April 6, 2021 - Beginning April 12, Trier Road at the intersection of Maplecrest Road will be closed to traffic for approximately one week. Vehicles traveling westbound on Trier will not be able to continue on Trier past Maplecrest, but travel lanes on Maplecrest will remain open to through traffic.
